What is Pixanthropy?

Pixanthropy is a private corporation that has created a crowdsource funding web portal for non-profit organizations and groups working with a fiscal sponsor/fiscal agent that is a non-profit. The mission of the organization is to help these groups raise money for their charitable purposes and to help grassroots supporters to give small donations and volunteer to groups that inspire them.

Who can donate?

Anyone with a credit card and access to the Internet can view non-profit organizations raising money for their cause and donate. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable and will be forwarded to the chosen non-profit for their unrestricted use.

Is there a minimum donation?

A minimum donation of $1.00 is required.

Do I have to open an account to donate?

No. You can open an account and deposit funds in your account to donate at the time or later if you want to.

How much of a donation goes to the non-profit organization?

When a donor determines the donation amount they want to make, a small credit card processing fee is assessed to the donor. The net amount of the donation received by the non-profit goes directly to the non-profit for their work. Currently, the credit card processing fee is 3 percent. For example, on a $10.00 donation, $10.00 goes to the non-profit and the donor’s credit card is charged $10.30.

How will donations be reported on my credit card statement?

Your credit card statement will read: Pixanthropy/New Mexico Handmade, Inc.

Is my information secure when I make donations?

Yes. Your credit card information is processed by Stripe, a payment processing company that serves millions of customers and adheres to all industry standards.

Is my non-profit eligible to participate?

Eligible organizations:

All participants must be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and in good standing with the IRS and New Mexico Attorney General. Emerging non-profits working with a fiscal sponsor/agent non-profit organization are also eligible.

All participants must provide service in New Mexico.

Places of worship that run programmatic social service organizations that benefit the general public can participate. Social service organizations must have a 501(c)(3) letter from the IRS.

What does it cost a non-profit or group with a fiscal sponsor/agent to participate?

There is a setup fee of $75.00 due when your information is ready to load on the website. There is an annual fee of $50.00 that begins on your anniversary date. Both fees are paid by credit card. There is no fee for adding or changing photos of your work or adding events up to three times during the year. The website is a place you get the word out about your services, successes, needs and opportunities for people to support your work.

How does our non-profit organization apply to be included in the fundraising system?

Download and complete the application form. Answer all of the questions and attach all of the required information. Sign and date the application. Print a copy of the application for your records. Upload the application and attachments to the Google drive folder or email it to Koenig@pixanthropy.com. You will receive an email confirmation that Pixanthropy has received your application.

When your information is ready to go live, you will receive an email from Pixanthropy to review the information and make any corrections. In order to activate your information, we will need a credit card to charge the $75.00 annual participation fee. Your information will not go live until the fee is paid.

Can I change Plans or cancel at any time?

Can I view the amount of donations accumulating for our non-profit?

When and How does a non-profit receive the accumulated donations?

Pixanthropy works with New Mexico Handmade, Inc., a charitable non-profit, to process donations monthly. All donations are reviewed for accuracy and forwarded to the non-profit by on-line payment to the non-profit’s ban k account following the information provided on the application. If your organization is using a fiscal sponsor/agent, the payment of donations will go to their bank account.

If you do not have direct deposit, you will receive a check from New Mexico Handmade, Inc. sent to the contact and address provided on your application.

What does a non-profit do after they are listed?

Notify Pixanthropy of any change in the status of the organization and its charitable work.

Get the word out to friends, family, and supporters that you are participating in the fundraising system. Include the site address in all your fundraising events, newsletters, facebook posts and press releases.

Notify Pixanthropy of any change in contact information, mailing address, or bank account information for the organization.

Will I be able to see who has donated to our non-profit organization?

In January of each year the non-profit or fiscal sponsor/agent will receive an annual donation letter with a 1099 form detailing the amount of donations the non-profit was paid during the year for tax purposes.
